MACREX Version 7 Demo Download
About MACREX Version 7
Macrex Version 7.18b is an NT "text mode" program. This means that it
requires Windows 95, 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP to work and is a 32 bit program. It uses the Windows printer drivers (so there is
no need to have a printer driver specially for MACREX), can access network
paths, use cut-and-paste features and permit a range of screen fonts allowing
more entries to be displayed on the page. It also has much faster
file access. There are text windows that pop up for the menus
and it is possible to select menu options and entries for editing,
position the cursor and scroll the screen using the mouse. However
the overall appearance is similar to MACREX 6. A few windows dialogue boxes pop up, for example when you select the printer
or change the font - giving away the fact that it actually is a windows
program. Over time we will continue to add features and it will become
progressively more windowy.
MACREX Version 7.18b automatically stores a list of your entries in the
order they are entered. It will also remember all the commands typed
on "inspect and edit" screen, allowing easy recall. There are many
other improvements.
The MACREX Version 7.18b Demonstration copy is fully
functional and allows you to create indexes with up to 300 entries.
There is a user friendly installation program with an automatic uninstall.
Compatibility with previous versions
Installation of MACREX Version 7.18b Demonstration copy
will not interefere with previous versions of MACREX. All the names
of files and directories used for the program are deliberately different.
However previous indexes, layout files and other definition files can be
loaded and used by MACREX Version 7.18b.
