Many of the files listed above (except for the Version 7 Demo) are in
a compressed form (called zipfiles). This means that they will download more
quickly but can only be used after you have unzipped them. They can be unzipped
by many popular programs such as WinZip, Info-Zip, or PKZIP. If you do not
have any of these download unzip.exe before
you get any of the other files. If you already have MACREX version 6 you will
already have a copy of unzip.exe. Click here for
instructions on how to use unzip.
Some of the documentation files are supplied as PDF files.
These need Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on you computer to read them.
If you do not already have it installed it is available free and can be obtained
from the Adobe Web Site.

How to use unzip
When you download unzip.exe your browser will give you the chance to decide
where you want to put it on your hard disk. Choose C:\DOS if you are working
in MSDOS or a DOS/Windows system or choose C:\WINDOWS if you have Windows
95,98,ME or C:\WINNT for Windows NT or 2000.
Once you have done this download the .zip file that you are interested
in. This example will use volfrig.zip. Put it in your MACREX directory (eg
C:\MACREX, C:\MX6 or C:\MACNT). Next, disconnect your internet connection
(to save phone charges), obtain an MSDOS or COMMAND prompt, change to the
MACREX directory and unzip the file by typing
unzip volfrig
The program (in this case volfrig.exe) will appear. Usually we will include
a text file explaining how the program works. In this example it is called
volfrig.txt. After you have extracted the files you can delete the original
file, volfrig.zip, because it is no longer needed.
